2008 Winners

After a long wait, we are now ready to announce the final results for this years' poster competition Ten Images for Ithaca. The competitions' theme for 2008 was the "dream".

Our jury had quite a lot of work to do since the number of posters we received exceeded by far every previous year. We received as a whole 1900 posters from 1257 participants from 70 countries!

The ten winning posters that were selected by the jury have a strong "personal" approach. As a group, the posters constitute a multidimensional recording of what the word "dream" can mean to each one of us: a means of escape, a wish, an almost mathematical function, a processing machine for images and emotions, something inexplicable or absurd or even a product.

We would like to thank all those who sent their work and we look forward to welcome you in Ithaca on the 12th of July for the award ceremony and the opening of the two exhibitions for the ten winners and the 123 finalists as well as the poster exhibition "20 years to know" organised by Apeiron Photos.
